Over the years many bar-to-bar battles have been fought out on the venue’s infamous sandy soil and this scrap is equally as impressive as Britain’s best motocross racers fight for precious championship points.

The Muscle Milk KTM rider converted two great starts into a 4-3 finish for third on the day behind double race winner Christophe Pourcel and Ryan Dungey who went 3-2. Reigning world MX2 champ Tyla Rattray ended the day fourth overall with a 5-4 card.

When was the last time a CCM holeshot and then lead a motocross GP? Well, up until race two of yesterday’s French MX1 Grand Prix the answer was either ‘dunno’ or ‘never’ but Tom Church has changed all that. Coming from the extreme left of the gate, TC kept the CCM pinned to go around the outside of the whole field. Good holeshot skills Tom.
