Rizla could sign a new two-year deal with Suzuki

Rizla is poised to sign a new two-year deal to stay as title sponsor of Suzuki’s factory MotoGP effort.

A new deal has already been agreed for 2010 and 2011 in what is a massive boost for Suzuki.

Japanese factory management has constantly had to fend off speculation surrounding its premier class future since the advent of the worldwide financial crisis.

Rumours persisted throughout 2009 that Suzuki would succumb to the global economic crisis and follow Kawasaki by quitting the sport.

The new Rizla deal though confirms what senior management vowed all along and Suzuki will honour its contract with Dorna to field at least two machines in MotoGP until the end of 2011.

Rizla has been title sponsor of Suzuki’s factory effort since 2006.

Suzuki will field Italian veteran Loris Capirossi and Spanish rookie Alvaro Bautista in 2010.
